We're on the lookout for a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a Manager of Affordable Housing. In this crucial position, you will play a key role in influencing the progress, oversight, and coordination of our affordable housing programs. Essential Job Functions
  • The Affordable Housing Manager will be primarily responsible for overseeing the recertification process, ensuring its timeliness, approving and verifying that all move in files adhere to compliance regulations set by state and local programs, but not limited to tax credits, HPD, HFA, Section 8, HCR and SOTA.
  • Supervise and guide Affordable Housing Associates.
  • Maintain and manage applicant waiting list.
  • Maintaining the recertification tracker to ensure timely completion of all assigned and certifications.
  • Running Yardi Annual recertification reports and developing a plan of action with the team on proactively organizing and completing certifications. 
  • Ensure utility allowances, LIHTC and HUD increases are filed timely and correct data is being used throughout portfolio.
  • Lead and direct team to meet all compliance needs, including recertifications, rent registrations and lease renewals.
  • Meet with team on weekly basis to discuss needs for the department and conduct trainings. 
  • Ensure accurate lease information, including rates, agency details, apartment specs, and financial terms.
  • Prepare subsidy paperwork and input initial leases, renewals, and credits (e.g., SCRIE, DRIE, Section 8) in Yardi.
  • Assist team in interviewing applicants, assess income requirements and document external income sources.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual report preparation for government agencies.
  • Take charge of preparing for any state agency or Syndicator audits that may occur.
  • Conduct regular audits, ensuring compliance with income restrictions, guidelines, and government housing programs, while staying informed to maintain audit-ready files and acting as a liaison between ownership, state agencies, and managers.
  • Address tenant inquiries promptly and compassionately, building positive resident relationships while adhering to fair-housing laws and regulations.
  • Must be present on-site, with the ability to move throughout the office, ensuring effective communication with tenants, staff, and visitors.
  • Position may be required to perform duties outside their normal responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in affordable housing including LIHTC, local programs and rent stabilization.
  • Proficiency in navigating computers and property management software to include Microsoft Office Suite and On-Site.
  • Previous supervisory experience, a plus.
  • Extensive experience with Yardi software including Rent Café Affordable Housing and managing Section-8 compliance.
  • Possess fundamental math skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with practical experience in data entry.
  • Valid NYS real estate license or ability to obtain one within the first 120 days of employment. All active license holders must register their license with Rose Associates upon hire.
  • LIHTC certification (must be obtained within the first year of employment and maintained).

In addition to base compensation, significant incentive pay and full benefits packages are available.

Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000
